How to Make Idli – Most Popular Indian Breakfast Dish
Ingredients
Rice (kaccha chawal) 3 cups
Urad daal 1 cup
Patle poha 1 hand full
Salt as required
Cooking Instructions
Wash and soak the rice and urad daal for 5 to 6 hours . Wash the patla poha and grind it along with the rice and daal into a smooth paste . Add salt and beat it thoroughly and keep it overnight for fermenting. Smear oil on the idli mould put in the required amount of batter and steam it in the idli vessel (thondur in Tulu) for 15 minutes. Serve hot with sambar and coconut chutnery
