Vishwa Tulu Sammelana Ujire 2009 – Photo and Video Gallery
Ujire in Belthangady taluk is hosted the the first Vishwa Tulu Sammelana in association with Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala and Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy from December 10 to 13. Competitions, seminars, and exhibitions reflecting Tulu sports and culture is held in seven taluk headquarters from October 21 to 28.
Vishwa Tulu Sammelana – Programme
The first day (10 December) will have two-hour grand procession starting at 3 p.m. followed by inauguration by Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa at 5 p.m. this procession will feature cultural programmes from 7 p.m., including a Yakshagana performance, “Koti Chennayya”, by Sri Ira Somnatheshwara Mela.
On Friday,(11 Dec) there will be symposiums on Tulu language and literature, Tulu poetry, Yakshagana tradition featuring Yakshagana songs by Puttige Raghurama Holla. Cultural programmes of the day include saxophone recital by Kadri Gopalnath, drama “Anka Boolya”, directed by Jeevan Ullal, musical recitation of Mandara Ramayana by Chandra Kala Nandavar, and demonstration of the beauty of Tulu language by K.P. Putturaya.
On Saturday,( 12 Dec)there will be sessions on education, theatre and media, the shifting culture, poetry, and business, sports and living. Cultural programmes include a play “Pilipatti Gadas”, directed by Jeevanram Sullia, cultural ballet, and magic show by Kurdroli Ganesh.
The last day’s (13 Dec) programmes include a quiz competition, staging of Devadas Kapikaad’s play “Badkud Orinda”, ballet “Guttuda illu” by cinema and TV artistes, Yakshagana “Beere Prathapa Devapoonje”, Harikatha by Santha Bhadragiri Achuthadasa, and a discussion on development and opportunities of Tulunadu, innovations, achievements and challenges.
Show Case T0 Tulu Culture – Vishwa Tulu Sammelana 2009
“Vishwa Tulu Sammelana” has attracted the native people of D.K district through its variety of decorations & other unique arrangements. Varieties of local handicrafts & art works are being show cased in this sammelana under the leadership of Dr. D Veerendra Heggade.
The decorations of are of different styles including Nagaradhane,Bhootaradhane,Yakshagana & Foalk culture.The colourful flags & lightings arrangements has been put up in the both the sides of roads. And these colourful arrangements symbolize the rich Tulu culture & heritage.
The main ‘Dwaras’ at Halepete, Siddavana gurukula, SDM College entrance are have been specially designed by the famous artists such as V.K Vitla, Karanth, Ganesh , Jeevan Ram Sullia. The Vishwa Tulu Sammelana has installed different types of special pendals. Each pendals has special theme based on our rich Tulu culture. Themes such as Nagaradhane,Bhootaradhane,Yakshagana & folk traditions of architecture setting and the status of Mythological & historical personalities reflects Tulunadu traditions & spiritual heritage.
Exhibition of historical monuments replicas at the Tulu Grama and SDM College inner ground is expected to attract more number of people. An exhibitions has been arranged with collective efforts of Alva’s Education Trust, Dharmastala Manjusha Musium and Mr.Tukaram Poojari.Varieties of stalls & entertainments events are arranged, cultural and other recreational programmes such as such as Bharatanatyam, Yakshagana, Magic Demonstrations, Music concerts, Folk dance Dramas, Mime, Quiz and Kavi Goshthi (poem recital) are arranged.
