Nestled in the southern fringes of the Nagarahole National Park, the Kabini River Lodge is a perfect getaway for nature lovers. The breathtaking locale with the tranquil backwaters of the River Kabini presents an ideal setting for a long-awaited vacation. Once the hunting lodge of the erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore and British rulers.Kabini is home of herds of Elephants, Gaur, Chital, Sambar and Barking Deer, Sloth Bears and Langur. Crocodiles and over a hundred species of birds and the elusive Cats, the Leopard and Tiger. Once widely known for the mass elephant-trapping operations called ‘Khedda’, Kabini stands as the one of the brightest beacons for wildlife preservation in India today.

Kabini River Lodge has a colonial stylearchitecture equipped to accommodate 50 persons at a time. Fourteen spacious, colonial style double rooms with modern amenities, six twin-bedded cottages in sylvan surroundings and five tented cottages with attached modern bath ensure that your stay here is in comfort.(But there is no A/c, or T.V. in any of the accommodation).

Amenities
Kabini river lodge is having 30 Accommodations consisting of rooms, cottages and tents. Golghar ( Restaurant), well equipped bar, conference hall for 25 persons, a wide range of wildlife movies for children and families.

Apart from the luxurious living areas, the Viceroy’s building houses our well-equipped bar. There is also a large, charming room exclusively for seminars, meetings with multimedia projector and other conferencing facilities. Our communal dining area called the Ghol Ghar (circular, open-to-sides gazebo) overlooks River Kabini and is the perfect place for guests to share their experiences of the day with each other.

Cuisine
The Resort takes special care to cater to the varied tastes of an international clientele. The buffet meals include Indian and Continental menus. Food is an integral part of every holiday. At Kabini River Lodge, we pamper your taste buds with delicious and piping hot buffet of Indian, Chinese or Continental cuisine. Fresh Tandoori preparations are offered daily.

Safari
Perhaps nowhere else in India can one see so much wildlife. Sighting of elephants, sambhar, spotted deer, gaur, wild boar, sloth bear, wild dogs, etc., are almost assured, while if one is lucky, a tiger or a panther too, could be sighted. Our clients are permitted to shoot, not with guns but with camera and video. The sighting of wildlife in their eco-system creates awareness and respect among the humans towards other life forms.

Programme
To enjoy a truly rewarding wildlife experience, we recommend a two or three nights stay at the Kabini River Lodge. You might, of course, plan a longer holiday prior to making reservation. The following programme is a daily- package for visitors planning a short visit there:

DAY – 1
12.00 noon Arrival by road and check-in.
1.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m
Buffer lunch at the ‘Gol Ghar’ overlooking the Kabini River OR at the Viceroy’s Bungalow – depending on weather.
REST
3.30 p.m. OR 4.00 p.m.
(Depending on Season)
Tea/Coffee served in the Verandah of the Lodges, outside the rooms.
4.00 p.m. OR 4.30 p.m to 7.00 p.m.
Wildlife Tout into the Nagarahole National Park, in the Resorts Jeeps Vans, accompanied by our experienced Drivers and Naturalists.
6.30 p.m to 7.00 p.m Return to the Lodge (Depending on season).
8.00 p.m. Video films on Wild-life at the Viceroy’s Bungalow.
9.00 p.m to 10.30 p.m
Buffet Dinner around camp-fire at the ‘Gol Ghar’ or Viceroy’s Bungalow. Bar Services are billed separately.

DAY – 2
6.00 OR 6.30 a.m. (Depending on season) Tea/Coffee served outside the rooms.
6.30 a.m. OR 7.00 a.m.
Drive into the Park and Coracle Ride on the Kabini River accompanied by a Naturalist. The Coracle is a round native boat. View aquatic Bird-life and spot a crocodile and other wild life on the water edge.
9.30 a.m. Return to Lodge for Breakfast at the ‘Gol Ghar’
11.00 a.m.
Departure from Kabini River Lodge.

Apart from the above programme, for those who stay for more than one night. Elephant rides will be made available subject to availability of Elephants and weather condition. BOARD MEETING, SEMINARS, TRAINING PROGRAMMES: With its relaxed, undisturbed atmosphere, Kabini provides the ideal venue for important Board Meetings of Executives seeking a change from routine board-room tedium. These meetings and seminars can be scheduled between 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. for up to 30 persons, at the Viceroy’s Bungalow or at the ‘Gol Ghar’ and be followed by a Wild-life Tour.

Maps and Accessibility
Kabini river lodge is 220 kms from Bangalore, 80 kms from Mysore. You need to take Mysore – H.D. Kote road, reach H.D. Kote hand post and proceed to kabini forest. There are enough signages by Jungle lodges and resorts at crucial points.
