Kadambi Waterfalls

Kadambi Waterfalls is one of the spectacular waterfalls which is located inside the Kudremukh National Park in the Chikmagalur district of Karnataka State, India. The waterfall has a height of about 30 feet. If you want a day with just your family and also beat the heat, you could visit the hills of Kudremukh with some stops along the way. Hanumangundi, Kadambi Falls and Lakya dam could be part of your stops on the way to Kudremukh hills. Kadambi Waterfalls attracts many tourists who want to experience the beauty of nature in the lush green part of the Western Ghats region in the Kudremukh range. Kadambi Waterfalls lies close to the main road between Sringeri & Kudremukh. Waterfalls can be seen from main road from a bridge situated nearby. However, most visitors prefer to go near the falls and some adventurous visitors even get down to the waterfall to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature and the water.

Nearby Places, Accommodation and Food

There are several attractions in the vicinity of the waterfall that are worth visiting, mainly trekking to Kudremukh Peak, Kudremukh National Park, Lakhya Dam and Hanuman Gundi Falls. If you leave Mangalore city right after lunch on Saturday and drive towards the first stop, Hanumangundi Falls which is located in Kalasa, about 85 km from the Mangalore city. The journey on road should take around 2 hours. Kudremukh is a mere 20 kms away from Hanumangundi but it could take longer because of the twisting and turning roads. After driving 14 kms through the Ghats you will reach Kudremukh. Some good places to stay there include a set of five guest houses and resorts run by different wings of the Karnataka Forest Department. Charges are nominal and you can also choose to stay at a couple of private hotels or a resort. Several home stays too are available in Kudremukh. Please note that camping within the Kudremukh National Park is not allowed.

How to reach Kadambi Waterfalls

Kadambi Waterfalls is located at a distance of about 350 km from Bangalore, 85 km from Mangalore and is easily accessible by road. The nearest airport and railway station is at Mangalore. There are cabs/taxi’s and buses available from Bangalore or Mangalore to reach Kudremukh. From Kudremukh there are buses and private taxis that ferry passengers to the Kudremukh National Park including nearby waterfalls.
