Karnataka’s Very Popular Dish – Bisi Bele Bath
Ingredients
Rice – 500 gms
Toor Daal – 500 gms
Oil – 4 tsp
Cinnamon – 2 gms
Cloves- 2 gms
Bay Leaf – 2-3
Chopped Onions – 2
Chopped tomatoes- 1
Diced Mixed vegetables – 1 cup (cauliflower,carrots,capsicum,green peas)
Bisi Bele Bath powder – 2 tsp
water – 1 cup
Salt
Cashew nuts – 2 tsp
Kaara boondi – 1 cup
Cooking Instructions
Cook rice and daal separately and keep it aside.
Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan
Add Cinnamon powder
Add cloves, bay leaf and fry for about 2 minutes
Add chopped onions – fry until light pink
Add tomatoes and diced mixed vegetables
Add bisi bele bath powder and stir well
Add salt
Add cooked rice and daal
Add salt
Add 2 tsp of ghee
Season it will roasted cashews
Serve it hot with kaara boondi
